God’s Glory

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless. Psalm 84:11

God’s Glory

16 So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!” Daniel 6:16

Daniel’s predicament in the above scene was of no hope. As he was cast into the lion’s den, a stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den with the king’s seal on it so that no one can change the dreadful situation Daniel was in. Though God had the ability to have prevented the terrifying night, He allowed it to happen so that His glory will be revealed through Daniel.

When the king who had spent a sleepless night, rushed to the lion’s den at the break of dawn, he called out to Daniel in an anguished voice. Even this heathen king seems to have realized that there was a trace of hope for this man who fiercely trusted God above all things. When he saw Daniel alive and well the king issued a decree that in every part of his kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel.

There might be situations in our lives where we have to take a stand for the Lord if we want God’s glory to be revealed through us. If not for the lion’s den situation the power and the glory of God working in Daniel’s life would have not been revealed to the rest of the world.

Today be assured that “Surely His salvation is near those who fear him, that His glory may dwell in our land.”Psalm 85:9
