Honour the Lord

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise;
give thanks to Him and praise His name
. Psalm 100: 4

Honour the Lord

  Ezra opened the book. All the people could see him because he was standing above them; and as he opened it, the people all stood up. Ezra praised the Lord, the great God; and all the people lifted their hands and responded, “Amen! Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground..                                                                                   Nehemiah 8:5

We have been discussing about Nehemiah and we learnt about his faith, passion determination and the desire to finish the God given goal without giving a foothold to the enemy

In this story we see that the Lord burdened the heart of Nehemiah to carry out the task and the Lord was with him from the beginning to the end. This burden was not given to another but to Nehemiah. So it is with the ministry that the Lord unfolds to us. The burden will be for that specific person who is called and is chosen to accomplish a task and God will equip him to complete it.

Nehemiah was aware of the guidance of the Lord and in all humility in the presence of all the people he honoured Him. Nehemiah did not take any credit for the completion of this huge task which was done to perfection.

The lesson that we could learn from this passage is that the Lord is the one who enables, protects and equips us to complete the task and we must be always grateful to Him and give Him all the glory.

Prayer
