Honour One Another

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honourable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8

Honour One Another

Be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves.
Romans 12:10

We are very special created beings. Unlike millions of other living things, we have been created in God’s own image. We must acknowledge this uniqueness and appreciate others by showing them mutual respect and honour.

We live in a world where people compete with one another and strive to obtain honour for themselves, rather than giving honour to others. Paul tells us not to make distinctions but to honour all people, which means even those who are not believers. (1 Peter 2:17) The reason for this is because God has created all people in His image and their souls are of great worth.

In Philippians 2:3, Paul tells us, “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.“

Today, as we come in contact with different people, those who differ in status, ethnicity, age, colour and creed, let us remember one thing. They, too, are created by God who loves them so much that He sacrificed His only Son, Jesus. When we honour God’s creation, we honour God.

Dear Lord,

I come to You in Jesus’ precious name. Today I seek to be a reflection of Your character. May I live a life that is devoted to others in love and may I honour those whom You have created in Your image. Amen
