Dear All,

When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.                                      John 8:12

God’s Plan

You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.                                                                                                                                    James 4:4

Unfolding of God’s plan takes its time. It is not an overnight fix. The maturing process also takes its time before it produces the fruit.

Joseph was called by God. However the enemy had other plans and the first of which was to throw him into the pit. Since the first attempt was a failure, he tried another plan where the enemy tempted Joseph through Potipher’s wife. Joseph was  able to overcome this temptation through the power of God.

Everything was going on well for Joseph and he could have been a friend of the world by being lured into the temptation brought by Potipher’s wife but Joseph preferred  to be a ‘friend of God’ and thereby he was thrown into Prison.

Situations similar to that of Joseph can happen in our life when we do not go with the flow of the world.  Due to this we may have to lose some of our friends, be in disagreement with those around us or even lose our position in the society. However today we can have the assurance that when we take such bold, right stand, we will not lose our friendship with the Lord.

This process eventually produces the fruit that lasts; which saved the nation of Israel from famine. Would we then adhere to the voice of God and walk in that narrow road that leads to life. (Mathew 7:14)

Prayer

Dear Lord I thank you for this day and I seek you to give me the strength to overcome the desires of the world and to live a life to please you. I believe that my steps are ordained by You.  Amen
