Taking A Stand For God

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high His royal banner, it must not suffer loss.
From victory unto victory His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished, and Christ is Lord indeed.

Taking A Stand For God

David asked the men standing near him, “What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?”
1 Samuel 17:26

David was willing to take a stand for God because his faith rested in the living God of Israel, the Lord Almighty. He did not see Goliath as a giant of great strength but rather, he saw him as an uncircumcised Philistine who dared to humiliate the children of the Lord God Almighty.

Sometimes we may compromise our faith because we do not want to hurt our friends or offend other people. Our fear of man is greater than our fear of God but by not taking a stand for the Lord, we grieve both Him and His Holy Spirit.
Taking a stand for God comes from having a close relationship with Him; may we desire to spend more time with Him, making Him our priority in the busyness of the world that we live in. As we acknowledge and proclaim His goodness in our lives, we can be confident that He will give us the victory over the Goliaths because our faith is grounded in the living God.

Therefore, let us not be ashamed or fearful of taking a stand for Him who took a stand for us when He bled and died for us on the cross, washing away our sins and giving us the gift of eternal life.

Dear Lord,
I thank You for this day. Help me to be bold so that I will be able to stand up for You and not be a coward. The world is passing away but Your kingdom will not pass away. Amen.

God bless you.
Your obedient servants in Christ,
Theo and Manju
