For you created my inmost being you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful,
I know that full well. Psalm 139:13-14
A Living Soul
Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Genesis 2:7
Have we ever wondered how we have been made? Has it ever occurred to us that we are the work of His hands? When the Lord made the heaven and the earth, He spoke the word and the word became alive. He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. His word is powerful!
However when it came to creating mankind, God took great care of his being because He created us with a key purpose of having a relationship with Him. For this reason God made man after His own image. Using the components of the dust of the earth, in His own hands God formed man.
Man’s creation was distinct from the rest of the created beings as God made Him in His own hands and in His own image. In order to perfect this creation of His likeness, God also breathed into man’s nostrils His own ‘breath of life’.
It is the breath of life that God has given each one of us that has made us a ‘living soul’. (Gen 2:7) Are we meeting the purpose of His creation? Are we walking in close fellowship with our creator who was prepared to go to the cross and redeem our ‘living soul’ because we are His children made after Him with an imperishable soul? If an earthly father would do everything possible to save his son, how much more will our heavenly Father care for us, who have been created by His own hands and with His own Spirit?
Dear Lord,
I thank you Lord for this day. Help me understand the love that you have for me and walk in close fellowship with You each day. Amen
God bless you
Your obedient servants in Christ,
Theo and Manju
