Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, Philippians 2:3
Reach Out
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth) walk. Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping and praising God. Acts 3:6-8
The world around us is quite selfish. Often, from the time we wake up and up to the time we rest our head to sleep, we may think of nothing other than working for ourselves. Being on this rat race makes us to seldom look beyond our track and reach out to those in need.
It was one of those busy mornings. Peter and John were on their way to the temple but the outstretched arms of the lame man stopped them going beyond. Their willingness to pause and pay attention to a man who was begging for alms, made them being the instrument of giving him legs.
In our busy schedules, if we are able to stop a moment for those with stretched out arms, with a word of encouragement, a kind deed or even a smile, it will no doubt make a difference in their lives.
When we realize that what is in us is greater than what is in the world, we are able to stop and reach out in the name of Jesus, to help those who are in great spiritual and physical need.
Dear Lord,
This day, open my eyes so that I may see the needs of those whom I meet on a daily basis. Let me not walk passed them without being concerned. Amen
God bless you
Your obedient servants in Christ,
